A Bit of Peace with

May. 2nd, 2019 08:05 pmThe more life throws at Isidor Durant the stronger she becomes. That’s the bargain she imagines she made with the universe. The promise. It can throw whatever it likes at her but it better be careful, because she will overcome it, and she will be stronger for it. One day, if it wasn’t careful, the universe was going to find itself dealing with a mage who wouldn’t flinch at the trials it had in store.
Today, however, Isidor was gaunt. Her frustration at being unable to dive right back into martial training or magic practice was tempered by her innate tiredness. A fatigue that had settled in her bones. Between her body’s new limits and her doctor’s careful guidelines, Isidor couldn’t keep up her usual bright fire and fury. It left her bored and bothered, with a thousand plans and ideas and no energy to enact them. Planning was fine, to an extent, but this was getting to be too much for her.
As a distraction, she picked up her PINpoint and messaged Harrowheart. Now that she was finally out of the watchful eye of her family and doctor she had a bit of privacy while she took time to ‘rest’.
Message sent, she flopped back onto the couch, snuggling into her hoodie. Complete with yoga pants, thick socks and a messy bun, she’s not the picture of perfection, but she is comfortable.

“You free? I finally have time to myself.”

After a small back and forth, Isidor had arranged to meet with Adia (and, she assumed, Caspar) to finally look at a building or two for the research centre. Considering how much more beneficial it was than the thought of Viatorus going anywhere near Micolash again, she had been putting a lot more energy into the project lately. With most of the groundwork started, now is the perfect time to make a few significant decisions.
She waits for Adia and Caspar outside her favourite contender for the research centre. The building is large, a modern architecture of smooth pale stone and glass in geometric shapes that makes it look like a series of boxes carefully assembled together. The only curve is in the front where the main entrance and foyer can easily be seen in the panel of glass that runs up the front of the building, curving outwards.
Isidor is in fullbattle gear businesswear. Her hair is tied tightly into a ponytail; her makeup is perfect; her heels are high and polished; and her grey dress and black jacket are immaculate. She's waiting outside the building when they arrive, sorting out emails on her phone until she spots them.
She straightens and smiles, tucking her phone away into her bag. "Good morning."

Jun. 17th, 2017 02:02 pmDespite the Archon's reputation for being fierce and unyielding, he and his wife had always taught Isidor that a person should always listen, that they should always know when to act and when to be still. More importantly, he spoke of how humility was a better guide than pride. Although not many would have heard him say it, or guessed he ever would, Isidor had and she remembered it vividly as she walked to Naugus' tower. It was not an easy walk. She was going to the Weatherhills to do something she had little experience with and took no joy in: She was here to admit she was wrong.
As per usual, she is dressed immaculately in a business dress and heels, a choice that ensures she won't have to glare up at Lawrence if he appears, but also means she has to stick to the path. Her reluctance isn't easy to spot with the way she strides into the area the Weatherhills have so expertly transformed. Once she arrives, she scans the area for a familiar face. "Hello?"

It took some careful back and forth between Isidor and Harrowheart to organise their meeting. After hearing about Harrowheart's approach to apologise the patron had been furious. It went against everything she had instructed, against Viatorus' safety, considering what the undead had demonstrated to them at the Durant manor. Viatorus had been forced to come between her and Lyall, having some hard words with his sister so that she didn't take out her anger on the guard.
She was frustrated, he knew. She wanted to protect him, and meeting Harrowheart had reminded her of her limited control. Fear seemed to be the emotion of the day. Harrowheart's fear and Isidor's.
Eventually, however, he had gotten her to agree to meet him and listen. Tempering her anger was no easy task, but time and persistence had been on his side. Agreeing on the date and the time, he asked Harrowheart to come and meet her in Viatorus' office, otherwise known as his Nexus apartment. With his sister here, all that was left was for his friend to arrive.
