Her carefully sculpted neutral expression vanishes the second she see him grin, instantly becoming a scowl. Just when she's drawing a breath to snap at him for laughing at her, he pulls her close. Damn these heels! She hardly has a choice but to relocate to the couch. Sitting next to him, with his arm wrapped around her, she reluctantly finds her temper calming. The more he speaks, the more her annoyance eases back into the nervousness she's so used to hiding.
